Seasonal Weight Limits

The City of Lansing's Department of Public Service is responsible for the repair, maintenance, and traffic safety of nearly 1,000 lane miles of the roads in the City of Lansing.  Because of this, they have imposed seasonal weight restrictions on all of the City of Lansing roads.  Seasonal weight restrictions help to preserve and protect against the wear and tear on city roads that is caused by winter thaw and heavy vehicles.

Seasonal Road Weight Restrictions

Spring weight restrictions are now in effect for roads under the jurisdiction of the City of Lansing, as well as other surrounding jurisdictions.

  • Class A Roads: Legal axle load limits are reduced by 25%
  • Class B Roads: Legal axle load limits are reduced by 35%
For additional information about the restrictions put in place by the Ingham County Road Department, please visit Ingham County's page.
